If it ain't broke.... - Dutz - 06-28-2015 While we debate Glock vs. Springfield polymer, etc. sitting on the sidelines thinking how quaint this all sounds is the 100 year old design that still shoots better than all the rest. You know what I am talking about - the 1911. You saw the picture of my Springfield TRP, here is a greatreview of this particular model. Some say the best production pistol made. I have found nothing to dispute that. http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/gun-review-springfield-armory-1911-trp/?utm_content=17300050&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook
RE: If it ain't broke.... - Karl B - 06-28-2015 No argument here. I shoot steel and tupperware, and my 1911 is a champ. There is a reason the design hasn't changed much in over 100 years. RE: If it ain't broke.... - BelieveIn308 - 06-28-2015 I have Remington R1 Enhanced 1911. I love the weapon, perfect balance, weight, accurate, reliable pistol, right out of the box. RE: If it ain't broke.... - Codyp911 - 06-29-2015 I agree. If it ain't broke.... - Brian S - 06-29-2015 I'm an old and valued Glockster, however if I was looking for a .45 I wouldn't think twice about buying a 1911. If my opinion is only valued to myself, the Springfield would be one of the first I'd look at buying. When the Glock 21 first came out I bought one and sold it about 90 days later. Not that it didn't shoot well but compared to a 1911....well there isn't any comparison. RE: If it ain't broke.... - rwhite135 - 07-07-2015 That's one of the reason's I love my HK USP 40, other than not having the grip safety, its controls are 1911. Just like the 1911, it can be carried cocked & locked as a single action pistol, which is how I use it. The first semi-auto handgun I ever held was a 1911 and the USP is the closest I've found to a pistol that isn't a 1911 being a 1911. I've been thinking of getting one but for now that's on hold as other things take priority.
RE: If it ain't broke.... - Dutz - 07-08-2015 It sounds like what you really want is a 1911.
