my uncle passed away last year and one of the things my cousin gave to me were boxes of ammo. i was given a 22 high velocity box of ammo. my son has a 22lr cricket can we use the ammo in his rifle?

and it is also 22short

I wouldn't shoot .22 short in a gun chambered for .22LR. The ammo is probably still fine functionally, but not the right ammo for that gun.
I'm no expert in .22, though.
