a car is a privilege so liability insurance is understandable, my firearm is my right, i do not need to insure my rights! my liability was going over seas and serving my country. how do people like this slip through the cracks and make it in to office. somewhere somebody voted for this A@# hole

Quote:"The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.”

Really, insurance companies are the reason fatalities are down? That's a new one.

RE: NY Congresswoman Introduces Bill Requiring Gun Owners to Purchase Liability Insurance - Dutz - 05-30-2015

According to the CDC in 2013 there were 35,000 automobile related accidental deaths and 500 gun related accidental deaths.

Insurance companies don't cover purposeful actions, i.e. gun fatalities, they cover accidents, i.e. the 1.2 per day for the entire country. That means each day there are 0 in 48 states.

More distortion and lies from the liberals. And that is the only clear result - liberals lie.

Maybe we'll end up with a Second Amendment version of Obamacare for us lunatic gun owners, something like "Obamacontrol."

The sad part is people will actually believe what she is saying. The car manufacturers made cars safer with all the air bags. The weapons are made safer with the little thing called a SAFETY. I would like to know how many of the accidental shootings are due to stupidity. Stupidity is not an accidental shooting.

Pretty soon we will need insurance to exercise our 1st Amendment rights to Free Speech and to attend Church. We all know how dangerous religion is after all, especially Islam. And we will need insurance to exercise our right to vote, and to privacy. These anti-Constitution democrats are a major problem. They want to grow government and institute their vision of socialistic state control over every facet of life in America, from what you can eat for lunch in school to the size of beverages you can consume. They want to indoctrinate you in their beliefs and force you to work to support others.

Constitutional insurance riders. I already can hear Morgan Freemans voice pitching it.

so if someone enters my home with out my consent and i choose to let him/her live but wound them, would they get a payout from my insurance company? how would that work?

What they want is us to buy insurance so, if we shoot someone who broke into our home, the intruder or their surviving family has someone to sue for the injuries that they are at fault for receiving.
