I watched this earlier today. I understand wanting to show the difference in perception of situations and color but so not the way they should have gone about this (not sure if there is a right way). The guys lucky he didn't get shot by a nervous cop and the same goes for the pregnant woman with him. Thankfully he had police officers respond to the situation who kept a level head and followed protocol (although I am not sure what protocol would be for an open carry state in response to someone who is open carrying with the weapon on a sling, not in hands).
This is much better than one where the guys carrying AR15's decide to waltz into a fast food joint to show off their right to carry. There is open carry and then there is stupid carry. Obviously the right to open carry is great but come one, there is a time and place for everything. Open carry with a handgun in a holster but what need is there to exercise your right with a rifle.
Umm, so my thoughts on the video. I like the message, just not the delivery.

Personally I think its stupid. Why in the heck would you want to walk around with an AR over your shoulder, just cause you can. White, black red, brown,, pink or blue it is not a good thing to do. All this does is create more issues and it does not help the current issues at hand. Open carry of a side arm on your hip is totally different. Here with an AR you are asking for the issue regardless of the point you are trying to prove.

I agree with you both, I understand the message they are trying to portray. But the execution is very poor. It's also sad to see the drastic difference in the outcome, but the risk if proving a point seems unwarranted.

But....it was legal. My fellow Americans, we are being stripped of our rights day after day. I know it's stupid to walk down the street with an AR15, but he was doing nothing wrong.
I can legally open carry in my yard, and I've been doing it more and more. Talking with my neighbors with my big ole XDm .45 on my hip. Got a few looks the first times, but now they are getting used to it.
