Good video. No way I'm going there! I went through D many years ago, in the 80s, and didn't care to return.

The first 7 months of me living in the US were in a Detroit suburb. It gave me a real bad taste of America. Then I moved to Florida, and saw other parts of the country. Was pretty sketchy of me living here long after those first few months.

I have seen about 30 of the US States and not just passing through. I LOVE MY COUNTRY...Its the IDIOTS that run it that I can't stand!

I have been to every state in the Union, except Alaska and spent at least a week in each one...

Detroit, Oakland, Baltimore and New Orleans are the arm pits of America. Unsafe and as undesirable as any city in the world. For me, the states between California and the East Coast are the real America. My choices for best are Wisconsin, Texas, Montana, Idaho, Iowa, and Alabama... These are the real America. Basically any state where there are fewer socialist democrats is better. Usually, the more democrats, the worse the environment.

I spend 3 months for work in Georgia. Met a lot of nice people there!

I spent 6 months in Duluth, GA in 2001, it was a great area, with many nice people. The only downside was trying to get back home at the end of the contract 9/15/2001. I had to rent a car and drive back.

What was the issue?

9/11. All air traffic was grounded for 3 days after and then flights were limited for another week or so. My company had people driving back also. Created a run on rental cars too and mixed up their inventories.

Those three days were surreal if you lived in an area that planes typically flew over and then were not. You don't realize how much of the background noise you block out until it is gone.

RE: Got to love Detroit! - ssphoto - 04-07-2015

Yes, I remember looking up at the sky shortly after 9/11. You typically will see at least two or three contrails. Not then! Surreal.

I hear you loud and clear. I remember that week vividly.
