Why do they have to lie? It is like the ATF and their 5.56 M855 ammo ban... To date, according the the FBI, no M855 ammo has been used in ANY mass shooting. No police officer has been shot by M855, and no vests of LEO's have been penetrated by an M855. Although any center fire rifle ammo is capable of penetrating any class IIIA vest. And M193 55 grain ammo actually penetrates more armor.
And AR pistols are not cheap (usually > $1K), are over 22" in length, heavy, and not concealable, and to date have not been discharged in any crime.
Criminals usually favor shotguns or cheap handguns.
The Anti-Second amendment guys fell it will be easier to strip you of your liberty if you are disarmed. It is all about socialist control. After all, it is far harder to rob the armed and split the loot is the victims can resist. Ask Mao, Stalin or Hitler.
