Honestly, all jokes aside it is hard for me to get my head around people having these type of accidents. An accident "incidental and unplanned event or circumstance" with a weapon such what happened here can ALWAYS be prevented. Every time I take my G42 out of its holster the weapon is cleared and made safe before it is stored, laid down or placed back into the holster. What is wrong with people? Other than people assuming, and just not being careful and the lack of respect for the weapon... I just don't get it. Grrrrr!

These types of discharges usually happen with weapons with trigger safeties only. Rarely with a a secondary safety at the back or a manual safety. This is the trade-off for not training with a manual safety. A Glock is almost always a perfectly safe weapon when properly holstered. However, many pistols may not be properly holstered of something gets in the trigger area and presses it.
Still these accidents are few in number on an annual basis. And many are caused by carelessness. I still prefer a manual safety, but I was always taught to flip the safety when I put my finger on the trigger. I do that as second nature, same with my long guns.

I won't buy a pistol if it doesn't have some form of safety besides the trigger itself. One of the reasons I don't like Glocks is the lack of a secondary safety, even if it's just a grip safety. This article doesn't say what handgun brand it was but I'm willing to bet it was a Glock or another that only had a trigger safety.

But knowing the type of bra holster and the fact that you should never have your finger on the trigger while adjusting a gun leaves me thinking that this was caused due to the lack of understanding of her weapon and the lack of training as the issue and not the weapon.
