Conceal Carry Full Size? - JustJoe - 02-14-2015 Does anyone here CC a pistol with a 4" barrel or bigger? I bought a Ruger SR9 for my first pistol, and now I'm planning on pursuing my CCW permit. However, I'm starting to wonder if this is going to be a problem to conceal carry. Obviously, I'm considering using this as a good excuse to buy another gun, but I haven't even broken this one in yet, and would like to get more use out of it, if possible. Thoughts? Suggestions? All of my items that I use for my CCW are Glock compact or sub compact. I used to carry my full size G17 but it is very difficult to hide and can be somewhat uncomfortable. I also have a Ruger LCP 380 and it is very easy to hide in my ankle holster. My Glock G42 is just a little larger than the LCP but it is a lot easier to shoot, light weight and easy on concealment. I am a Glock guy so as I do own a few other brands I prefer my Glocks. RE: Conceal Carry Full Size? - Freedoms1791 - 02-14-2015 I carry base on how I'm dressed Kimber Ultra CDP II 45 acp. , Ruger LC9, Ruger LCP 380. the 380 can fit in a front pocket of my jeans. Like bradberry said it is very easy to hide. RE: Conceal Carry Full Size? - BelieveIn308 - 02-14-2015 I do carry my FNS-9 sometimes. And I carry my Ruger LC9S at others. Depends what I am wearing. The Ruger is a lot smaller and thinner, so it can always be worn. The FNS-9 is bigger, so it depends on what I am wearing. I have found it more about what I want to wear that determines which I am going to carry. RE: Conceal Carry Full Size? - XdEric - 02-14-2015 It all depends on body size and clothes style. I am 5'8" at about 145lbs. None of the shirts I wear can hide the grip of my XdM. I always print The only way I could carry it would be to have a coat on. Only problem is that i think i would look pretty stupid with a coat on in 80 degree weather.

Try it this summer! RE: Conceal Carry Full Size? - mikereddot - 02-14-2015 (02-14-2015, 01:56 PM)XdEric Wrote: It all depends on body size and clothes style. I am 5'8" at about 145lbs. Like Sir Bradberry said, you'll have different guns for different dress. At this time of year, I've been wearing a big ole parka coat, and that allows me to carry a full size 4.5 XDm 45ACP. At the other extreme, I carry a Bodyguard 380 with a versaclip when wearing shorts, t-shirt and sandals. The rest of the year, I've got 3 other guns to carry depending on my dress. RE: Conceal Carry Full Size? - bradberry - 02-14-2015 Like Mikereddot said accessorize. When I wear shorts I carry my LCP and other times, like the weekend I wear a Hickory that is a little longer and I can conceal my G36, G27 or my G42. During the week I conceal with my ankle hoslter with my G42. So really I accessorize my protection to fit what I am wearing that day. But I don't have a Parka like Freedoms1791 for any of my other toys. But now that I think of it a Duster would work and feel better than a Parka! I think it has more to do with the holster and being more aware of how you bend and stretch. Printing is bound to happen, but no one has ever called me out, even with a 30mph breeze pushing my shirt against the gun. The general population just doesn't pay that much attention to those around them. RE: Conceal Carry Full Size? - Dutz - 02-27-2015 "'Concealed firearm' means a loaded or unloaded handgun carried on or about a person completely or mostly concealed from view of the public or on or about a person within a vehicle." The law does not say we are in violation if anyone recognizes or guesses we have a gun. Printing is not illegal. I make every reasonable attempt to keep it concealed. If I print, so what? If I bend or move in a way it becomes obvious, so what? None of that is in violation. If I am in a restaurant and the manager comes over and says customer so-and-so said she saw I had a gun and was offended. My response will be, "Well, I saw she had a purse, and I was offended. I guess that makes us even. And unlike her purse, I have a permit to carry mine." RE: Conceal Carry Full Size? - BelieveIn308 - 02-28-2015 I would tell the manager to ask her if she is offended by Police who carry? Tell him to tell her YOU are offended that she is against the Second Amendment and Constitution. And let him go discuss it with her. RE: Conceal Carry Full Size? - mikereddot - 03-02-2015 well....I do my best to make sure it's 100% concealed all the time. Kinda hard when driving a car or wearing a shirt with the Red Dot Logo. The only reason i'm so concerned about it that I could be made as an example for everyone else. I'm with Dutz. Screw it.
