I doubt even if the lady was carrying if she could have reacted fast enough. Speculation aside, I think if I were in that position, clearing chem spray away and trying to defend myself with a gun would prove to be difficult and even risky, as any shots would be aimless and therefore dangerous. Still, GFZs are a stupid idea.

When we teach CCW, we start by saying. The only safe places to carry is your house and car.

Yeah, I carry everywhere and there are few places I haven't be able to. I'm getting very good at guessing which I can and which I can't.
I still think it's stupid. I'm the same guy at the grocery store than the post office. Mind you, the folks working at the grocery store a lot nicer, maybe that's why they aren't worried

Oregon does have a few restrictions. But we are allowed to have automatics and silencers.

I've sent letters to the Governor , Illinois state police, Illinois attorney general, my state representatives, state senator asking to explain to me the purpose of the law when it comes to a license concealed carry holder and the waiting period for new rifle and handguns purchase when I'm at the gun store buying a gun and at the same time having my concealed carry gun on me. I have not heard back with a answer from any one above as of today and I have sent this letter out every 30 days for the last 7 months. then again it maybe the post office that has to be it.
