For a bolt gun, I think you can get by fine with 8 mags. See my post above... The scope, rings and bi-pod will cost ya over a grand alone. advise please. - Brian S - 07-21-2015 (07-19-2015, 11:37 PM)nickdemo Wrote: i let him pick and he went with a remington 770. 243. the bolt is not very smooth but he like it, we will see how he does with it. i will look in to getting the 10/22 for my youngn Nice pick! I wish I had something of that quality and power when I was 10. I wish him the best of luck with with it. He should NEVER let his first rifle to be sold, traded, bartered, etc. It should stay in the family forever. He may even start now and write a dated log about everything he does with his first rifle. Information like this will be of great knowledge for your great, great grandkids and beyond. Also tell him to keep the box and any papers that came with it in pristine condition. I found wrapping boxes in Saran Wrap and paperwork in a Zip-Lock works okay, I have paperwork that's over 40 years old that looks new. RE: advise please. - nickdemo - 07-21-2015 thank you, i will tell him to do so, he is a very responsible boy im sure he will do so. yea i tried to get him to bite on the 22 but he wanted a little more power so i said heck with it and got him what ever he wanted. (in price range of course) i will tell him about the zip lock bags. |
