I was at a great gun show in Michigan this past weekend and saw this from Manly Innovations and found it interesting. It is kinda along the lines of the other posts on having a handgun with a bayonet. There are some Youtube videos on the site to see it in action.

There is another attachment called the SlapTac, which is a mini tactical rail for attaching other accessories. I tried holding a Beretta with this attachment and a flashlight and it was pretty balanced.

Seems cool at first and then I started thinking about the 'what ifs', like you drop your magazine and now you've dropped your flashlight/knife too. Second issue is the price. The guy at the show (who is also in all the videos) explained he was switching manufacturers and it will be cheaper than the $300+ price tag he is asking now. At the show he was selling them for about $175.

The rest of the show was pretty good. Lots of old ammo (and the colorful artwork on the boxes) and guns. A few reloading booths with any powder you want at a 25% premium. Found some reasonably priced 25-20 wcf for my father-in-law's Winchester 1892 lever action so I've been able to shoot that.
I would not consider this at all. You have already mentioned the reasons why (dropping mag/equipment and the cost.)
They make anything for glocks....kinda funny. Next they'll start adding cameras and watches to them...lol

case and point.
To be fair, thats a go-pro mount, which will mount on any rail. I kinda want one Big Grin
I guarantee the don't fit on on XD. Smile
I've seen the Go Pro mounts for guns too. I would think it would be a pretty good training aid. Or the cameras they use in those Visa commercials where the surfer completes a purchase while surfing or Larry Fitzgerald catches footballs while buying jerseys on his phone.

I'm not sure how useful a GoPro would be as pictured here. The GoPro is meant to be used as an ultrawide "scenic" camera. You are able to down-angle the view but only to what might be considered a "normal" angle. Still not enough to see your target have holes punched, or see the lead hitting the plate. I guess the HD quality and you can zoom in to see it, but it looks bulky and unnecessary.
Shooter point of view. Check out some youtube vids, it is pretty neat.
I wouldn't mind having one.
It just has bad idea written all over it. If you had the knife on it and fell or bumped into something and plexicoed yourself it wouldn't be a good time. For a camera I have seen the cap mounted ones and they seem.pretty cool
I'm a sucker for gimmick's but after thinking about the camera it's just not practical. One thing I would like to see in the future is an Android/Glock system phone, GPS, web and weapon all in one. Just one less thing to carry around..

I like the shoe phone idea better. Maxwell Smart had it made!
