I have a Remington 870 Express that has seen better days. It was stored in a case under a bed when the basement flooded and just trashed the gun. It is definitely not worth the investment to get it fixed back up but I would love to have it looking nice again as it was my first ever gun that I bought. Mainly the barrel is rusted and pitted. If anyone is looking to get into gunsmithing or does this as a hobby I would be happy have someone work on it if the price isn't to outrageous.
If the barrel is the only part that was trashed, I'm sure you can pick up a new barrel at a decent price. Your first gun is a piece you should definitely keep.

Why don't you bring it in to our shop? We'll have our gunsmith look it over and give you a fair estimate. I'm sure we can get it looking good for you again. We can also assess how damaged it is and give you an idea if it is feasible to get it firing again.
I will try to bring it in next week. I know I can buy a new one for about $250 that's why it really isn't worth it to put to much money into getting it fixed. Just because it was my first ever gun I have some attachment to it.

You can buy a new one but it's not the same as your first ever gun.
Ya it know. That's why I am thinking about getting it fixed up.
You should post a current picture of it! then a follow up if you get it fixed
Have an expert look at it, but us the rust and pitting on the inside of outside of the barrel. I had an old rifle I bought that had some rust and pitting. Some hoppes and super fine steel wool rookie care if it. Sometimes look a lot worse than they are. And you only get one first gun
