I'm super excited about this... almost worth driving there just to say I filled up for less than $3 a gallon.. haha

I have been seeing it drop also. Since I live near the IL/WI border, I drive into WI for my gas. It's normally .20 cheaper per gallon in WI.

Hmmm... Illinois Tax is only 7 cents higher.

I usually get gas in WI too. Almost always worth it.

$25.00 got me just over 1/2 tank today in my jeep. Had to admit put a smile on my face

Filled my old Durango yesterday. Still cost me $71. Gas was under a buck 50 when I first bought it

Just filled my truck for a smidge over $60.
BTW, a couple of stations in Grayslake are at $3.02 and the Marathon on 45 & Washington has a cash price of $2.97.

I was in Kenosha last week paid cash $2.99 at Woodmans. I wouldn't be surprised if it's lower now.

Hope prices stay low for another day or two. Down in Buffalo Grove but gonna head up to my cottage either tomorrow or Thursday and think I can time my fuel for a full tank fill up across the boarder.

You shouldn't have problem finding gas at $3 or less. From what I've been hearing gas may still go down further unless production is cut down. I live in Chicago
on the far NW side, I usually drive to Lake or DuPage County to buy gas, it's usually .50 a gallon less than in Chicago, At least once a month I'm at my brothers place in Kenosha and do my grocery shopping up there, gas is usually a buck a gallon less at Woodmans than here. Unless it's for a cup of coffee, I never shop in Chicago. I won't give Chicago my taxes. I try to buy anything I can out of Cook County too.10-21-2014, 09:04 PM
There is an app called Gasbuddy that I use. It comes in iPhone, Blackberry, and Android flavors.

I use Gas Buddy when I'm not familiar with the area I may be in. I don't like to keep this app on my Galaxy S3, it seems to be a battery hog. I install when needed and then uninstall. It's definitely a good app to use...very accurate.
