No, you are OK for your area. I just equate SHTF Bugout to being in the field. Trying to get as far away from built up areas as possible. I consider my area to be heavily populated and there are maybe 750-1000 people within a 4 mile radius of me. And a shotgun is a versatile weapon. Maybe my opinion will change after I take the shotgun class, and I might see a need for one in SHTF.

Which overall, I would want to move from the area, and having the range would be very useful.. Any of the places I've thought of heading to it would be nice, but I've been partial to trying to stay in wooded areas as well. Takes away from some of the range in there... But either way, we can compare notes and how we feel about it when we get to the class too!
