EU Moves Forward with Plan to Restrict Semi-Autos

In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Paris, the EU’s quasi-legislative (and simultaneously executive) branch, the European Commission, expedited plans to set new minimum gun control thresholds for its member states. The centerpiece of the new restrictions is a provision that severely restricts civilian ownership and use of semi-automatic firearms, by placing many of these types of guns in the same category as fully-automatic firearms. Other proposed changes include a new rule placing a five-year limit on firearm license validity, and a requirement for a medical examination for prospective license holders.
At least Britain is out of the EU now. The people making regulations have no idea what they are talking about. Even on the Chicago news last week talking about how many guns were purchased over Fathers Day weekend, the news anchor mentioned the hundreds of guns that were sold, and noted that few were even semi-automatics. Guess there was a big surge in revolvers and flint locks.
I still don't get the EU. The justification for staying in it is the same justification the Monarch's gave for America staying with England, the slave owners gave for blacks staying on their plantations, and the Nazi's gave for following Hitler.

Which is - you are poor, pathetic, ignorant, child-like creatures who need we superior people to protect you, guide you, nurture you, and keep you safe.

Although, it does sound a lot like Obama.
