That's a lot better than the first-first lady to say she hated America until she got to be first lady.

In the same vein, I watched a documentary on the porn industry when doing research for one of my classes. We had to state the effects of it on modern culture. You'd be surprised how many porn performers state that they're conservatives. I'd put it at around 3-1 conservative-to-liberal. 4-1 believers vs non-believers as well. It's a strange dynamic.

I don't find it that strange. Not all conservatives are social conservatives, and not social conservatives are evangelical Christians, and not evangelical Christians believe all laws should follow their Christian beliefs.

Underneath it all it is conservatives who believe in a republic where the rights of the individual come first. It is the liberals, socialist, etc. that believe a totalitarian approach where the majority dominates, and in the absence of a majority they pull out the guns and do it anyway.

Progressives are the ones who try to socially engineer societies mores. Those who fall outside the accepted are enticed by liberals with the promise of changing society for them, but those who don't want society changed and just want to live their owns lives, will gravitate toward conservatism.

It's a strange dynamic if you look at where it was in the late '60s and early '70s. The sexual revolution which quasi brought porn into the mainstream was a liberal movement. It's basically done a 180.
