OK...I see background checks in the near future for bats, wrenches, power tools, and PVC t-shirt air cannons (Australia).

You forgot bare hands. According the official numbers from the FBI, they kill more people than rifles, of all types, every year.

The Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms, not bare hands.

Might as well include shovels, crow bars, axes, hatchets, and hammers.
