I feel like after the kid went back to the car with the hatchet, I would have floored it to the left through the opening and been calling the police... Doesn't show a whole lot of what's to the side but I feel like there should have been enough of an opening. If I couldn't get away I think I would have been ready to shoot by the time he was turning around coming back from the car with the pistol
Thoughts?

Or drive by and hit him with the car!

First, I don't need a gun. I have a car, and the idiot's on foot.
Backing up when he came to the side was reasonable (as long as the back is clear). But once he raised the ax and ran at the car, backing up is useless. At that point the game is over, just pull forward. It won't take much but a light bump.
But once he took out the gun and started to rack it the game is really over. All bets are off. If you know a man can cover 20 feet in less than two seconds, how fast can my car cover that distance?
Once he sees my car coming at him he may try and shoot the window, but he won't even get the gun up.
Interesting scenario... Backing up was wise regardless. Once he retrieved a firearm, the situation changes dramatically. If you are armed defend yourself. If you are unarmed, perhaps using your car as weapon is bad idea. Fleeing and letting the cops handle it is probably the best idea. If you are armed, use your firearm to defend yourself.
I think fleeing if possible is your best bet but I would just hit the ***** first on the way by while probably using several vulgar words and flicking him the finger!

I'm curious as to what the "victim" did to get such anger; rear ended?
Either way, I agree with you all that backing up was wise, but why did he just not leave the scene? Did the victim leave on foot? I think if laws in Russia are similar to here "leaving the scene of an accident", could be justified by the violent behavior of the moron in front. Probably showing off in front of his bimbo. Good thing for the video.
Moron also went thru a red light as he was leaving....geez!
ssphoto, he already fired two shots, shot out two tires... I don't really think he cared about the red light.
Yeah leaving is definitely my first choice.. But idk, if I put myself in that position, I think I would hope that he's leaving when he walks back to his car. But when he turns back around with the gun, I think that I would avoid driving into him... It depends what I was already set to do though.. Just because at that point in the incident, you're already on high alert, flight or fight mode. So you've had enough time to observe some options, and made a choice. I think I'd be getting out of the car though if it's blocked in, which would lead to finding cover and drawing. However, to me, from what I see, there was definitely room to the left to hit it and leave the situation. I think I'd avoid trying to hit him because I like my rusty car and don't like court... Haha
Trying to think through it though presents so many variables. Either way as long as you can present solid logic for your choice that's backed up by the video, the situation, and any possible witnesses then you're golden.. You're even better off if you can avoid all of it and not spend your life in court!

I couldn't agree more. I this case 3000#'s of metal and plastic are my weapon of choice.
