Do any of you have experience with an M&P 22 (22LR)? I do understand that the M&P has 12 round magazines and that the weapon only comes with one, and that they are expensive. I do like the fact that it is full sized. Or would you go with the SR22?

Comments?
I liked the ruger sr22 better. It fit better in my hand. But ultimately it is what fits you.
I have a couple 22LR pistols. an S&W 22A and a Ruger III (6" barrel) and they are good pistols. I was just thinking I would add a 3rd plinker. They both felt fine in my hand. I was leaning to the M&P 22 as the hammer is internal. I have not tried the M&P 22 Compact. I just wondered what opinion was...
I have never fired the M&P22, but I did put a feeler out on the forum a few months back for my wife. Got her one and I liked it enough, I bought 6 for our class for the NRA first step pistol class. Smile
Well let me know what you think of it. I know most 22LR pistols are ammo intolerant for some ammo. I have only fired an M&P 9mm, and it was a nice shooter, but I've heard that the M&P 22 is exactly like it with less recoil.
If I had a M&P I'd probably go with the M&P .22 for practicing when my hand hurts, running out of the other caliber, or just because .22 ammo is cheaper. If not having a M&P it's a toss up because I've heard good things about both.
I agree, and I do like most things Ruger... The SR22 is a nice pistol. I was just comparing the two, trying to decide which one to add to my want list...
Add both to the list?
That's what I normally do... and then wind up with two guns...
I have both, the feel of the m&p is better, but the trigger is horrible. I love the SR22. That gets my vote.

Yeah, I see trade offs... The M&P9 is full sized, so it feels better. I like the trigger on the SR22 better. I like the M&P's internal hammer better. I have shot the SR22, it is a good shooter. I do like all things Ruger, so I am leaning that way as it is. I do want to shoot the M&P22 just to satisfy my curiosity.
