That sucks!

For one, brewery workers are on strike demanding higher wages
On top of that, there's a shortage of imported beer ingredients.

Everyone should read 'Atlas Shrugegd'. It is dated, but it is a perfect example of Socialism. Socialism makes everyone poor. One of the prime reasons is that too much capital is invested in government and government run enterprises. Societies become wealthy when there are profits. Government NEVER generates profits. Thus the larger government becomes the poorer society becomes. The other aspect is that productive, smart people see ZERO benefit in being productive for someone else's benefit. Thus they cease being productive, and keep ideas to themselves. Eventually production falls and leftist government must resort to the bayonet.

State run monopolies are NEVER good for consumers. You get the highest possible prices and lowest possible quality of product.

Hosts generally FLEE from parasites...
Leave it to the left to ruin it all.

A great book. I disagree with you on one minor point,.. you say its dated. Actually I read it again during the automobile bailout fiasco and it was right on point. You can see Rand's characters right now running Washington. I'm with Believein308, I think it should be mandatory reading. On a positive note I know that Ayan Rand was a required text at Lakes Highschool, so its not all bleak out there.

It may have been written years ago but it will never be out dated. A classical example is this story:
http://www.businessinsider.com/dan-price...ave-2015-7 which is simliar to the 20th Century Motor Coach Company.
Creativity, innovation and perseverance are the key PROFIT which is what makes a society wealthy. The more capital poured into government (which generates zero profit/wealth), the poorer a society is. Anyone living under socialism/communism comes to realize this fact. People will not work to benefit others on a constant basis. What happens is all creativity, and innovation stop. Worse than that perseverance stops. Without that society stagnates and actually creates more poor people. When you tax business and economic activity, you get LESS of it. Just like if you tax booze and cigarettes.

Doesn't anyone take basic economics anymore?
And to add to the issue of NO BEER!
