Well....although he has a D- record on NRA's books, at least he's not extremist. A lot of his platform can seem "socialist" to some people; but that's a whole other debate. Based on what he said on the video, I think he as a good sense and respect for the law abiding gun owner, but I still will scrutinize him more carefully over the next few months. Any politician that wants to be elected, cannot show extreme view on this topic, as it will totally alienate half this country. What's critical to look at is what's actually in future bills labelled as "gun control" bills. That's the challenge.

ssphoto, I would like to see him campaign against other rights in the 'Bill of Rights' just as hard... Does he favor controlling Free Speech too? What the progressives call Hate speech? Does he want to control religion, also, say by forcing them to pay for things that are against their religion? Does he favor voting 'control' too? How about government control of the right to assemble and protest peacefully? Does he want government Economic control whereby government takes from those that have to give to those that want?

Sorry, about the only good thing you can say, is he is a Socialist, admits it, and wants to do away with the Constitution.

It's not that a lot of his platform seems socialist...IT IS SOCIALIST! The man is an admitted socialist and said Obamacare didn't go far enough. This video is also a crock. He hasn't met an anti-2nd Amendment law he didn't like. The NRA is being naive if he only has a D- grade. It should be an F.

A Constitutional Republic stands on a tripod, if one leg falls it all falls. That tripod is Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, and the right to bear arms.

Obama, all the other socialists, and their minions have been targeting all three in various forms for his entire administration.

There are some people (ignorant people) who genuinely think guns are a problem, some who don't like religion or religious people, and some who think free speech should be limited, and they may be sincere and sound reasonable.

However, these people are not the socialists who are trying to bring down the republic.

They are fools because they fail to realize by siding with one they are siding with all.

I have many religious friends who are anti gun but fail to realize they are supporting anti-religion.

I have gun friends who don't like religion or religious people (there may be some on this board) who fail to realize siding with religion control or restrictions only helps destroy your second amendment rights.

When dealing with socialists like Bernie don't be fooled by some momentary agreement on a particular point. Remember, he hates you too and will come for you when he is done with your enemy. In this case, the enemy of your enemy is not your friend, he is still your enemy.

And further remember, Stalin and the soviets may have "helped" with Hitler, but Stalin was worse and hated us more as we sadly found out.

And if you ask me how I know Stalin was worse, in the 80's I worked for a Hungarian man who married a German woman. They both lived under the Nazis and then he spent 2 years in a Russian prison camp when they tried to escape Hungary as the Soviets moved in after WW II ended. He escaped out of East Germany by going over the Berlin wall after his release. His perspective was Hilter's atrocities were evil, shocking, and made for good TV drama, but nothing compared to the Soviets.

I guess another way of saying:

"Bernie, you are a cluck!"

would be to say:

"Cluck you, Bernie!"

To Dutz's point, Stalin had starved more people to death in Ukraine during the early 1930s than Hitler killed in the concentration camps. Nobody outside of the Soviet Union really knew about it at the time.
