Hard to believe that 1984 is taking a rest.

I've thought about that. Personally, I don't think anything is going to stop collecting garbage. Their need to know the color of everybody's crap far exceeds any decency or loyalty to the Constitution. And we're the ones paying for all of their toys on top of it.

Isn't it odd that they need to know the content of every email, text message, and phone call to "prevent terror attacks" but no one is concerned with the non-existent border that lets in thousands of risks (aka, illegal Democrats) daily?

Well said sir!
I personally think that their scheme to get more illegals in to vote could come back to bite them in the rear in the long run. A lot of recent polling shows people in Latin American countries oppose a lot of things the left is pushing. Among these are gay marriage and abortion.

In cases like the Ft. Hood shootings and the Boston Marathon bombings, to name a few, the perps were known about in advance. On a federal level, nothing was done to stop them. Look at the damage they did.

The Garland, TX bums were stopped by local authorities, perhaps only by chance, even though at least one was on FBI radar, as well.

With this track record, what is the purpose of the spying, after all? Just askin'....

Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium -- I prefer liberty with danger to peace with slavery.
Reminds me of the famous Ruth Buzzi on Rowan and MArtin's laugh in... Talking with the IRS... Ruth as the operator says to the IRS, do you know who you are dealing with? We can cut you off in heartbeat. Which do you think is more important, paying your phone bill or you taxes?

Let the Patriot act die. It should be renamed the "Violation of the 4th Amendment domestic spying act"...
Under the law, any investigations that began or any offenses that took place before the provisions expired will be allowed to continue. But new investigations can't be started. Really.....
so does that mean if they had recorded someones phone call or collected an email like they have for most of us they can consider that to be an investigation and continue to do as they have been?

That's what I thought when I read that. Everybody is under investigation unless you live/work in Washington.
The Constitution is being trampled every damn day... Freedom of Speech (only if it is not hate speech), Freedom of Religion (only if you are not Muslim), the Second Amendment, the Fourth's right to privacy and specific Warrants...

This President thinks he can unilaterally change laws and ignore them...
I doubt the Patriot Act actually dies. Shutup

When you read that section "Under the law, any investigations that began or any offenses that took place before the provisions expired will be allowed to continue. But new investigations can't be started". So did they will they really ever stop or will it be one long continual investigation. Once they have the POWER why give it up. Wait...we gave them the power....Vote the bums out! Nice try DC but I AM NOT BUYING YOUR BS!
