Okay, I need help. My mom came up to see us and she will be here for 3 weeks. While she is here she will be making me 2 safe covers with zippered fronts. I already have one cover on 1 of them and she is making 2 so they both match.
My issue is that I want her to put quotes on both sides of each safe. Now both sides may be a bit much but on at least one side of each safe. I don't want it in the front of the safe since the safe cover makes the safe's inconspicuous. If you did not know where the safe's were you would walk right by them. Yeah, I know, the 2nd stated right across the front would be nice.
So, what quotes from history or even current would you have on them? The words are not the issue since she just bought a new Bernina machine and it does all kind of fancy stuff...so she tells me.
Si vis pacem para bellum..(if you want peace prepare for war)..one of my favorites My ds used to say it daily lol
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." -- John Stuart Mill
I hope it's a BIG safe.

Post some pics when she's got them done.
I'm curious too because I think my wife would like this

Will do. She made me one years (30+) for my first safe and she made it out of denim. But I wanted matching covers this time. The Quotes will be on the side and not on the face. Perfect job for her new Bernina 880.

Here is one I saw on a t-shirt - "Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms...whose bringing the chips?"
As long as you can di without dip, I'm sure the IRS will bring a bag of chips, maybe two bags if they're not over budget for the year.

I think I like this one the best so far.

Would need a big t-shirt for that one.

Nicely said.

Well, my mom has sized up the safe covers and I have taken her back home. It was a great visit, just wished she could have stayed longer.
The safe covers are back with her to finish up. So far one safe has the on it -Si vis pacem para bellum..If you want peace prepare for war and she was putting the 2nd on the other side. I also gave her Senator Richard Henry Lee quote from 1788 and about three others to pick from. Will she how this comes out. The nice thing is that she is putting hidden zippers in on each side. That will help with the accessibility.

She finally got one finished and sent it to me. She is working on the other but she hurt her back so it will be a while. It takes her a little while since she is in no hurry. I will get a few images posted. I really like the zipper part. It is nice to unzip the front and just lift it out of the way.
That sounds like a prayer Gen. George Patton would say! I like it...
