Does anybody know what other states have FOID cards?

Just the other day, I just heard on a podcast that in North Carolina, you need a permit from the local Sheriff every single time you want to buy a gun.

Illinois, you need a FOID card to buy ammo or guns. 24 hours for a long gun, and 72 hours for a handgun.

How's it in your state?
In Michigan you need a permit to buy a handgun. You get it from the local police, there is a questionnaire, and you may give a notarized statement that you are legal to carry.

Long guns are not a problem.
Not in Oregon, Washington, California, or Idaho.
I Googled it and came up with this far left Washington Post Article

No link Brian. Confused
Confused? That what an iPad does...
It's an older article and don't pay attention to the title.

No FOID needed in West Virginia (the state I live in), Virginia, or my home state of Pennsylvania. Those are the three states I've purchased weapons in. I won't do so in Maryland due to all their silly laws. I don't believe they use a FOID there either but you do have to have a permit to own a handgun and they have a ammo capacity limit. You also cannot own either an AK or a SKS in Maryland since earlier this year. If you had them before the law went into effect your fine but you have to be able to verify it if asked. Oh, those silly, silly Marylanders, bless their little hearts.
