The beginning of the end of one of our most precious liberties–the right to our physical privacy, and all that goes with it–is set to go into effect throughout the country this summer, depending upon the responsive cooperation of various state participation efforts. It is the full scale implementation of the “REAL I.D. ACT”, which stands for “National Identification and Location Registration Card.”

"Papers Please"... In the finest Gestapo voices of the democrat party. Socialism requires everyone to submit to the state.
Of course, illegal aliens won't be required to have anything. You just need to say, "I'm here illegally" and they will leave you alone.

hummm...maybe I should dust of my Canadian passport.
i can not figure out how this stuff could happen, at what point do the people set out to enforce this stuff say no! not one person i served with in my 8 years of service support this, no police officer i know supports this stuff. So at what point are the people making these laws "on their own"? at what point do they order Americans in service (rather it be police, military, etc) to push and they say no?
not only will laws like these infringe on our privacy but they can cause unrest within, even amongst their own ranks and this is where our countries strength will be tested, will we simply take it on the chin? will there be fighting within? or will there be national compliance where America as a whole just says no! these laws and changes are the real threat to our country, for they are what at some point will push everyone past a point were they will accept this. in a dream world everything will stay peaceful and a simple no will work...
As Marx said, Socialism requires total submission to the state. In a free society, you must slowly erode 'rights' to the state, and you must eliminate faith. The very concept of 'God' is at odds with the state.
Man that was a rambling artical. If this guy is pissed about real ID. The older IL drivers license would if made his head explode, since it had your SSN right on it. Personally I don't think requiring 2forms of proof of residence to get an I'D. Isn't going to lead to Hilary suspending the 2A and fema camps.

2 forms of id will not, a national id will. We know it will because that is its purpose - to gain greater control over you.
Don't marginalize this and things like it. For years after WW II the world asked the Germans how they could let this happen.
Simple. They dismissed and marginalized these warning signs.
Not only are we destined to repeat history if we don't learn from it, we are neck deep in repeating it right now.

Spot on Dutz! Let the 97% agree that government can grow and RESTRICT freedom. Maybe the III% will stand up and reject what history teaches us is attack on Liberty. Why do you NEED a state issued ID to exercise your Second Amendment rights? The sheeple 97% think this is OK too... Perhaps they think we need a state issued ID to practice religion or free speech also? Or maybe they will insist on a three day waiting period before you can legally protest. This is the socialist vision.

Repeating what?
fromtheplaines, history! Seriously don't you see the parallels? Perhaps you should read what the left wants, I suggest Karl Marx' Das Kapital, and Hitler's Mein Kampf. They sound like the main stream democrat parties socialist line. And perhaps you should read Hillary's "It takes a village", there is no more anti-second amendment person living. Her views are basically the Second Amendment should be repealed. She has never softened her position on that ever. Hillary's views on Second Amendment rights make Obama look like a Lifetime NRA guy...
What does that have to do with real ID.
Looks like Obama and the anti-Constitution crowd lost. The courts and the Congress have ended this obvious government violation of the 4th Amendment. They will now have to name a person in their warrants. No more collecting information on everyone without a warrant. The Constitution wins one for a change!
