"Not an official sign but a sign that shows no firearms allowed."

If it is not an official sign, it is not a sign.
Was at the Culver's up in Antioch this evening and they took the sign down. Guess they got smart. Thumbs up
Very cool. Thanks for the update.
That's a great update about Culvers! Now I can go back!
That's awesome! Do they have that an owners choice, or is it a corporate decision? anyone know?

Awesome!! Thumbs up
Could be. An open carry issue came up at a Madison, WI Culver's and Culver's corporate ultimately decided to not create a policy banning open carry.
Here is the Madison video.

Here is the outcome from that incident. Can't find any information regarding current policy.

If you have an Android phone check out an app called "Posted", I don't know if it's available for iPhone. You can search by city or zip code for posted businesses. "Posted" is user updated so the database relies on us to add posted places along with an alternate friendly suggestion. A few other Android apps to check out are "CCW" and "Legal Heat" both of these are updated on a regular basis with every states gun laws. Although both of these app are seem to be updated frequently, if you plan on traveling to an unfamiliar area continue to check with state and local authorities.

If your on Facebook check out https://www.facebook.com/groups/IllinoisGunBite/

There is one for the Iphone called "Criminal Protection Zone".
Very good idea... Never actually thought of looking for an app marking posted businesses. Thanks for the info I'll check it out!
Think I will purchase the app and try it out!

The Posted! app is indeed available for iOS devices as well....I have it on my iPhone 6 plus and use it quite frequently. You'll see a lot of entries up here in the Fox Lake/McHenry areas as well as some in Crystal Lake made by me (same user name as here...also same as from Illinois Carry too). It's an extremely useful tool that will only get better as more people start using it. Unfortunately it's not free, at least it wasn't when I first got it (was $.99 or $1.99 can't remember) but it's well worth the money. I believe someone here in Illinois is the one who created it. Regardless though....I highly recommend this great and very useful app.
Just downloaded that app. Will have to try it out now!

Me too, looks pretty informative.
I lucked out yesterday. Went to my favorite restaurant in the city, no sign, went to the sky deck at the Hancock no sign. Didn't push my luck for the sears tower, so i left the piece in the car. They had no sign, but had a metal detector after waiting for 30 minutes. I would have been pissed if i have my firearm. THEY SHOULD HAVE A SIGN AT THE MAIN DOOR.
Oo yeah that's sneaky and rather unfair... I would have probably just left if I did have to go back to the car!

So what would they have done if you had a carry gun and a permit?

If they don't have the legal sign they can't stop you.
Actually a good question, would they turn you away if you did? That would kind of make it a public thing then since everyone around you would then know. I guess you could inform them discreetly, but I feel like they'd just put a sign up... Save themselves the trouble..
