I try to carry 25-30 rounds on me on a full size gun. I do have 5 mags for XDS, but have never had more than 3 mags, (15rds while i have carried), but in 90% of the case, i've had my full size XD(m) 45 on me also Smile
I have at least 4-6 magazines for every pistol I own. I only carry 2 handguns ever, both 9mm, and I usually only carry 1 extra magazine with me... So the Ruger has 7+1 and 7 extra (15 rds), and the FNS-9 has 17+1 and an extra 17 (35 rds). There is a limit to what I am going to carry.

I believe every rifle should have a minimum of 12 magazines. I exceed that count for every rifle I own, except the Ruger 10/22's and bolt guns.
I have 7+1 in my carry gun. I keep an extra mag in the car. If I feel the need, it comes with me when I leave the car.
I have the 5+1, and the two spare mags from my XDs in my backpack which is usually pretty close to me. Then I've been keeping my XDm 3.8 as a backup.

I would like to get another two extended mags for both the XDs and XDm. But I opted to take the training classes instead of a little extra gear!
I'm not carrying yet because I'm still waiting on the state but when I can I'm planning on either 8 (P938) or 13 (M&P357c) with another two mags for each in my backpack: 12 (P938) or 24 (M&P357c). I'm also thinking about keeping an additional two mags of each in my truck and maybe go with the 17 round mags and X grip extension for the M&P.
I was out yesterday and have my bodyguard 380 with only 6 rds. But with my Buddy carrying is G19 at a CCW conference. I feat pretty safe there LOL. A few 1,000 folks all carrying, a bad guy wouldn't have stood a chance.
Haha I had a similar feeling hanging out with a few of my uncles that I know carry. It was a good time!
I always feel safer with good guys carrying... About the only way to feel safer is for them to be in uniform, as you know the a bad guy will target them first. But bad guys tend to prey on unarmed defenseless victims. That's why they like 'sitting duck zones' better know as 'gun free zones'. If they could only have 'Police free zones' they would be even happier! I feel pretty safe with my Ruger LC9S (7+1) and one extra mag.
Always 2 extra mags or speed loaders so anywhere between 18 and 50.
Always carry one extra magazine for my XDS 9
Just watched a video supposedly as a Navy Seal Emergency Reload technique from USSCA. They argue that the overhand racking of the slide is slower than using the slide lock release, which seems reasonable, but the also say the do not recommend "We do NOT recommend releasing the slide stop by swiping down with your right thumb). Since most people are right handed, I assume that means they recommend using the left thumb. Has anyone heard of this? can you explain why?
