Going on the offensive.

This is what we need the rebublicans in congress to do about a lot of things. Take the fight to "them", whoever the "them" is at the time.

Wish it would set the tone for the rest of the US but since it will probably not move any further. It is a symbolic but most likely a dead bill.

but is that a bit crazy, the government has to make a law fining itself?

It actually makes perfect sense. The state is going to fine local governments who violate state laws by limiting a person's rights to carry a firearm. They did a similar thing here in West Virginia only it cuts off all state funding to the municipality that does it.
