I just bought a Lee load all 16 gauge. And I was loading some fiocchi hulls. And the crimps were pretty ugly. I shot them today and a good amount are not usable again. Do the sub gauge loaders have any issues? Do the fiocchi blue hulls have issues loading? Or maybe I have a bum press?
I have never had an issue with 16's or 20's. What is probably happening is when you start the crimp, the starter needs to be helped a bit by rotating the case a touch to aling the starter with the existing crimp. Also be sure that you have an 8 point starter in there if your hulls are 8 and 6 if they are 6. Fiocchi likes to use 6 point crimps , even on target hulls so be sure you match the hull. It should not be this hard. The press just goes up and down so there has to be something not matching up right.... Keep me posted on what you find...
Will do I will probaley load a new batch this weekend. Thank you for the advise
I ran another 2 boxes today. This time I paid attention where the crimp was lining up with the case. And 47 out of 50 turned out fine. And the 3 that were not, were not that bad. A much better outing than last time. Thanks for the advice
