You should check out the glock 42 also they are pretty awesome

In the go big or go home department... Get the Glock G29SF (10mm)

There's a good choice! Thumbs up

I have the XDs 45 and I love it. It was rough for a little while at the range but just like Dutz said, after a little bit it really grows on you. Plus you can't argue with the stopping power! This was the first gun I've owned so it threw me for a bit of a loop for a while... but since I've been practicing more (and taking classes with Steve), I've grown much more fond of it.

That being said, I'd also buy the 9mm just for kicks if I had the cash. I tried talking my girlfriend into getting it so I can use it. =]

Choose wisely in Girl Friends and Guns... Girl Friends turn into Wives, Wives into Ex-Wives, and those are dangerous to be armed.

But I like the plan! Best to buy what you want when your single. Wives can think of a million other things to spend money on, before a new rifle or pistol.

Haha very true 308. However, I can't complain too much... she let me get the shotgun I have on order.. I know I can't take that too far but I can't complain yet! and she said she wants a 9mm cause she's more comfortable with that.. So as far as the initial plan that's good news! but I will heed your warning! haha

Just took my XDS 45 to the range yesterday for the first time. Amazing firearm. I have a XDM 9mm and are both very comfortable to shoot.

After about 50rds I did feel some effect from shooting the 45 but that will improve over time at the range. Big Grin

I am not a very good shot. I'm usually happy to keep them on target. I love my Springfields. They have made me a better shooter. My problem has always been two decades of bad shooting habits. Knowing what I know now, I would have been far wiser to invest in training years ago. The Springfields are reliable, and accurate. Show them some love LoveBig GrinThumbs up

My friend has the XD 9 and we'll go out together n shoot. Between using both that and the XDs I'm pretty sold on knowing I can get a solid gun that I'll love to *****
Shoot from them. The XDs can get a bit tiresome on your hand though. She likes to show you all the work she's doing!

And I'm happy to try and start learning for habits... I haven't been shooting very long yet.. But I'm going it'll pay off in the years to come!

It will, bad habits are hard to break. Years of reinforcing bad habits is even worse. Just because you have been shooting a long time doesn't mean you know squat. You can always learn to correct bad habits, it's just tougher.

Hence the reason I always stop dads when the tell me, 'Yeah, I'll bring Junior to the range before the class so we have some idea of shooting". NOOOOO!!!!

I've been trying to get my buddy to go for a while and he's had excuses not to... Today we go to bass pro and shoot for a little bit and the first thing he says when we leave is I wanna learn how to shoot more like you and learn the correct grip and stance... All I said I'd he should still take these classes at RDA.

I'll show him the few things I know, but I'm still learning them myself. I'd hate to be the one screwing him up!

Finally got to try my new xds-45 yesterday. I didn't make it to the range, but shot it out of the bullet trap. Not as much recoil as I expected for a small gun. Can't wait to head out to the range with it.

So far I've liked the Hornady critical defense through it. Gonna give those 185 HTPs a try soon! So far it's fed everything I've used in it perfectly fine.

I haven't shot a 9mm, but I've shot the XDs in 45. I have bigger hands, and it really digs into your pinky. Not an easy gun to range shoot, but it's great for what it is.

I have that one also, and it's not a range gun. I have the 9mm also, and it's much easier to handle.
