I know it's only the Huffington Post preaching to their choir, but it is another of the daily, incessant attacks on the Constitution by Internet sites calling themselves the "media."

and that I simply refuse to believe that a country who went to two wars because of 3,500 dead on 9/11 doesn't have the resolve to prevent 32,000 dead each year.

Will he surrender his vehicle, or his kitchen knives, or his household cleaners, or ladders or... Since all of these and more according to the CDC contributed to many more deaths than that of a gun? Thank you Nick Desai for your words of wisdom....NOT!

This is just another far left socialist extremist...

Here are some of what our founding fathers that WROTE the Second Amendment thought (and a few others). They were QUITE clear about their intent. His comments just show how uneducated he is. If he has other motivations, then he is just a plain ordinary LIAR, like the current President.

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government" - Thomas Jefferson, 1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

"Man has the rights he can defend" - Danton.

When only cops have guns, it's called a "police state". Love your country, but never trust its government. -- Robert A. Heinlein.

"The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good" -- George Washington

"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed." -- Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers at 184-188

"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember it or overthrow it." -- Abraham Lincoln, 4 April 1861

And least you think PEACEFUL people think differently... "Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest." -- Mahatma Gandhi

"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom." -- John F. Kennedy

"A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves ... and include all men capable of bearing arms." -- Senator Richard Henry Lee, 1788, on "militia" in the 2nd Amendment

"To disarm the people... was the best and most effectual way to enslave them." -- George Mason, speech of June 14, 1788
"An unarmed man can only flee from evil, and evil is not overcome by fleeing from it." -Col. Jeff Cooper

This reminds me of a conversation between two authors, one conservative and one liberal. This is a true story. The conservative one is an author my wife reads a lot. During a cocktail party conversation between the two the subject came up regarding research as it related to the liberal's latest book. The conservative was a little surprised about something and asked the liberal how he was able to do his research. The liberal replied, "I don't need to do research, I already know what I think".

And there you have it.

And there you have it.
