Got a call from one of our distributors. Springfield will no longer be making the XD line.

They will put their efforts in the XDM and XDS

I guess they had to at some point, but still didn't quite expect it. I still want an XD... Then I can have one from each line! But would that include the mod.2? Since it came out I just roped it in with the XD's.

The XD's are great pistols, but the XDm's are really improvements on XD's. It is to be expected...

I'm curious if they will continue with the MOD2 in the XD family, they just released it last month, and released the .40s&w last week.

My first gun is the XD-M. But during the show at GAT, I test fired an XD. Assuming them to be nearly the same per the salesperson, I feel I made the right choice. I'm surprised this annoucement didn't come sooner.

I had a MOD 2 sub compact in my hands. For me the grip seems a bit big, I'd like to shoot one to really get the feel. At this time I'm still a loyal Glockster.
