I have never seen classes to train people how to reload but I think it would be a real interesting class and something I would love to learn how to do. Anyone ever seen such a class or interested in teaching me?

I took a class with Lynn Garnand of SafeSide LLC. Rodney was in that class too. It was very informative. Even if you don't reload it was still good information. The classroom time was about ballistics and a major portion of the class.

Lynn is a great guy. He's the guy my Dad and I hired to take a private 1 hour class when my Dad got his Glock(although I got the feeling he was a Sig guy) We also used to buy his ammo before I discovered RDA

I would like to take that class too. I've tried my hands at reloading some ammo and would like to continue. Knowing more about the ballistics would be great!

I took Lynn's class! So much in formation to absorb. He presents it well and is not boring in the least! I have only reloaded maybe 180 rds of .223, maybe 350 rds of .308 and 40 rds of .45APC. I do everything by the book, slow and methodical. I wanted to learn for SHTF scenarios.

Lynn really stresses safety and quality. I'd recommend the class anytime, you will learn a lot. And the best part is he gave our class business cards and said if you are ever stumped on a reloading question, we could call him! I have not had to call him yet, because I have been able to get my only real question answered on this forum. I'd have to exhaust every other resource before I took up his valuable time. Still it was a sincere offer and greatly appreciated!

Every class I have taken at RDA has had passionate instructors.

Highly recommended!

That class was great. Lynn did a great job teaching. I honestly walked into this class thinking I was not going to learn much, really it's just a reloading class, how much more can you learn. Primer, Powder, blah blah blah, that's it right? Wrong

All the details that Lynn went into really blew me away. I learned so much.

I highly recommend this class with Lynn. Thumbs up

Thing about that class with Lynn is that you leave the class realizing on how much you don't know.

Mike, I feel like that everyday. Every time I come into RDA I learn something. I've been shooting a long time, and still can learn more. Lynn has forgotten more than than I know. He is such a patient instructor too. You learn a lot in his class! Some of it went over my head at the time, but after going through all the handouts it really sank in. I'd recommend the class with Lynn in a heartbeat. I hope he doesn't give up the passion for passing on what he has learned over his years.

Lynn also teaches the NRA instructor classes and appears to have taught a long range rifle class recently

I'd take that class! I bet I would learn more about scopes, windage and elevation, than I have learned shooting all this time. Besides, the Spring shoot is coming up, and I need every edge to stay on top. This year I cheated, with a better rifle and better glass. The guys are getting tired of paying off and they really hate buying me all the beer on Sunday. So I am expecting a lot more competition and I am sure they are coming with some new setups.

The Long Range Class went well. We had plenty of surprised students who thought their $1000+ scopes actually were .25 MOA/click or .125 MOA/click and of course were not. Once they actually measured the true MOA/Click response of their turrets and the non-linearity of the scopes, they adjusted one time, and were in the black at 600 yds having just shot at 100. Their feet where off the ground the rest of the day. We shot a bunch of steel as well at 400, 500 and 600 and of course with the .50 BMG and had a blast. I have not scheduled the next one, but it will likely be in April or May when the weather is conducive to it. Thanks for the kind words about the reloading classes. They are fun to teach guys...

Hi, my name is Lynn Garnad. I am an NRA Training Counselor and teach NRA Metallic Reloading at least once and sometimes twice a month. The next class is 8-Feb in Hoffman Estates and then again on 14-Mar in Hammond and 21=Mar in Richfield. WI. The course covers rifle and pistol reloading (and they are somewhat different in the front end), as well as where and how to get equipment and components. This includes a source of unlimited amounts of pistol powder which is very hard to come by on occasion. Cost of the course is $145. Send me a note at info@safesidellc.com and let me know if one of those dates/locations will work for you. The 8-Feb course may be full, I am not sure, I am not in town, I have spent the week at SHOT Show making that deal for unlimited pistol powder among other things... The class is extremely informative. I include a lot of things I wish I had been told when I started to reload..
