Does anyone here love these rifles as much as I do? Rifles with better reliability than a AK, much better accuracy, harder hitting, and much longer range fire power?

Yes, they have the ergonomics of a railroad tie, but they really grow on you...

I like the FAL variants better, for numerous reasons. Still neat rifles though! For the price of some you can't go wrong

Outside of the bolt locking open on empty, why do you prefer the FAL? I've always felt the G3 was a far better rifle than a FAL. Parts seem to wear out fast on FAL's. The magazines cost a fortune. But they do seem to be hard hitting and accurate. I have only fired the FAL a couple of times, what have I missed.

P.S. To anyone with a HK-91 or Cetme, etc. with a awful 10-12 lb military grade trigger, I HIGHLY recommend (http://www.triggerwork.net/hkpacks.html) Mr. Springfield. What a difference.

I would love to get my hands on a cetme, but the price of them is getting up there. I almost thought about selling my ak to get one. But the ammo is so much cheaper. I have a Spanish mauser so it would be nice to have an interchangeable round.

I didn't know the Spanish refurbished some Mauser's for the Nato 7.62x51 round. You learn something everyday!

I think so many of the Cetme's are hit or miss, I'd lean toward a PTR-91 today. I have an original HK91, and it is still my go to SHTF weapon of choice, because I know I can beat it to hell and it will still go bang everytime. Although the Ruger SR762 is giving it a run for it's money.

yes... The Cetme was the original Spanish version of the German design that preceeded the German G3. The HK91 was the civilian semi-auto version of the G3, and the PTR-91 is an American made copy of very good quality.

yes... The German G3 surplus (Steel, aluminum) fit all 3 rifles, and are still dirt cheap. Their springs in these surplus magazines are top notch too.
