Every time I have a "disagreement" about guns, I always hear, "oh we need our guns for hunting", and yet almost 250 threads on the site, and I'm the first to post in hunting. Undecided

We need our guns to PROTECT our FREEDOM and LIBERTY.

Hunting is just another benefit.

Self defense from criminals is as well.

As Danton said "Man has the rights he can defend". The Second Amendment is about being able to resist the tyranny of government. The unarmed are nothing but slaves to the armed. History has plenty of examples. Governments bent on eliminating those that disagree with them (usually always Socialist or Communist) will use force against citizens.

The Second Amendment exists to protect all the others. It is there to give the people a fighting chance to overthrow the yoke of tyranny, socialism and communism.

I've had a few posts before wondering which shot shells are good for hunting.. Not sure how much I'll be hunting but I am going to give it a good try. Beyond that I just have a blast learning how to shoot targets and taking the self defense class.

Everyone in my extended family hunts for the most part, but like believein308 said, that's just one small avenue of guns.

This thread is too funny. You answered your own question. You're right, it is a GUN sight, and noody has talked about HUNTING yet. Not all gun shooters are hunters, the same as not all gun grabbers drive a prius.

Why don't you tally up how many posts you find about wanting to go on a violent rampage with our guns? Here's a hint to make it easier for you- the answer is none. Big Grin

Haha +1 for RJDSRT.
He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.”

REALLY????

The moderators would leave that post on the "sight" like you put it.

Oh, and my "hybrid car" is an SUV. Please take the time to read all my words. I don't sing Kumbaya on all Left issues. You make fun of me saying that no one here talks about hunting. Every debate I always have with someone about handguns ends with...."oh and are founding fathers were hunters". They didn't have guns for no other reason to put food on the table.

Oh, and for the record, I didn't vote for the this president. Stop painting me with a brush.

Dont want to be painted? Then stop doing it to us!

Hooray for catching a spelling error. I have spelled it correctly numerous other times in other threads. We'll get you a cookie for that one. Are you so starved for material that you're going to go on a spelling rampage? By the way you spelled "answer" wrong on your first thread. Thumbs up

Edit also- it is "OUR founding fathers not "are"

Just because we shoot guns we should be talking about hunting?

Ryan, it is next to impossible to open the minds of left wing ideologues. They believe what they want in spite of facts and history. To them anyone that doesn't agree with them is less intelligent than they are. You will find they are usually the same ones that insist on taking from one group to better another by force, and that they should decide who is being robbed and who benefits from the robbery.

They know little about the topic they speak of. This guy wouldn't know a bolt from firing pin. He obviously has never served in the armed forces. He stands firmly against the Constitution and the bill of rights. He lacks a basic education on US history. He knows even less about the founding of America. Want to bet he has not even read the Federalist Papers? Or any of the debates on the Constitution? He doesn't believe in firearms, and wants to force his will upon the rest of America that believes in Constitution.

You made such a generous offer to take him to the range to enlighten him, but his ideology prevents him from learning.

You would think that someone coming to a gun site to debate firearms would at least know something about the topic and about history. That speaks volumes about PieceLessPeace.

That argument doesn't even make sense. I don't hunt since its expensive. And no one in my family hunts. It doesn't seem like one of those things you can wing it. The whole argument to have the 2a for hunting purposes also doesn't make sense. We didn't rebel against white tail deer and ducks.

I use to have local access to hunt upland game, Doves, and waterfowl. Now that the property is a sub division I don't have as many opportunities to hunt. Not long ago I drove through that sub division and hadn't noticed any no hunting signs.

Living in Illinois just doesn't give many of us any land to hunt. If there was I'd be out every opening day and any opportunity afterwards. I got fed up with hunting pen raised birds that don't fly. The same goes for So.Wisconsin as far as dwindling open land.

hmmm... Hunting... True story. I live in a sub division which has 2-3 acre per lot. One day this summer I come home and my neighbor is sitting in a lawn chair about 40' from his house near my property line with what looked like an old BB gun. So I walked over and asked what was up. He pointed to a hole in lawn and said a family of ground squirrels had destroyed his wife's garden and she told him to get rid of them. He had next to him 1 dead one, and said their was another in the hole. I asked him what he was using, it was a gun that looked beat up, and one I never saw before. He said his dad had given him the rifle as a boy and that it had seen a lot of use. I asked if I could see it. It was a Hamilton #23 Patent 1900 22LR & 22 Short. He said when the squirrel poked it's head out it was a goner. About 40 minutes later I heard the shot and he got them both. We had a few beers around the fire pit, and he related how as a boy he would go squirrel hunting and how much he enjoyed it. He now referees to this as his new style hunting. I asked if he planned to upgrade the rifle, and he said no, but he might upgrade the lawn chair to one with beer can holders...
