Well this weekend my wife and I went to our county fairgrounds for the annual Sportsmen's & Outdoor Recreation Show. All types of vendors show up selling products, judging last years record breaking catches and kills. Ducks Unlimited was there selling $10 tickets for 1 in 100 chance to win one of 28 guns and since it is a good cause and I never win, I bought $50 in tickets. I was hoping to narrow up my odds a little. Just as we finished the show and were saying good bye to my son, who was stuck in his booth, I got a phone call telling me I won a gun!

So I took a picture of the guns and went home to study the weapons. The next morning, Sunday, I went back and filled out my paperwork for a new Henry Golden Boy chambered in 17HMR. Really wanted a new shot gun and I was not interested in any of the pistols, but that Henry Golden Boy just caught my eye. So for a guy who never wins anything, I final broke the streak!

Picked up my New Henry Golden Boy in 17HMR. What a beautiful rifle. I almost DO NOT want to shoot it. I think I need to buy gloves to handle this museum piece. I love it. Now I, Grandpa, one day in the near future, get to shoot my Henry 17HMR along side my first grandson "Henry", while he shoots his Henry Golden Boy 22LR. Can't wait for the day! I only have about 7 - 8 years to wait!

Congrates, I too never win anything in raffles, but I am staring at the Illinois IGold raffle tickets (7 for $50), even though I cannot go. I donate to the NRA and their raffles (I support them because of the training they provide) and GOA. I rarely have free time to be involved in these organizations other than cash. I try to support my local gun shops as much as possible also. Henry makes great products that will last for centuries. I shoot every gun I own. And I too worry about whom to leave them to.

Looks like the igold raffle drawing is 4-14... Good Luck!
