I have recently purchased a 45-70 Marlin lever gun. I see the Hornady Ammo has a slightly smaller case. Which is OK if you are reloading their cases for their bullets. But I want to keep the rest of my cases the regulation length. I also see people using wads in their loads with smokeless powder and am pondering why.
