When Ray Rice beat his wife unconscious in an elevator, New Jersey Superior Court Judge Michael Donio and New Jersey District Attorney Jim McClain agreed to put him in a diversion program for 1st-time offenders to keep him out of jail. But when Pennsylvania single mom Shaneen Allen was pulled over for a traffic violation and volunteered to a New Jersey police officer that she was carrying a legally-owned handgun with a Pennsylvania permit, the response of Donis and McClain was to deny her the same opportunity as Rice.

It's sad that with such a big thing like concealed carry, half the police don't seem to know the laws, or just don't care. I know there's two sides to every story but I've seen a lot of news like this where even though the permit was displayed and everything is correct they still get harassed.
Not that all cops do that, but it sticks that they ate still there.
Also, I did read that is because she crossed state lines... Which we all need to be careful of. But still

It takes time for Cops to learn the laws. And not all Cops have the same interests. No Cop can know all the laws, many mistakes are made. I've found most to be reasonable, if you are. Sometimes if they are receptive, you can show them a copy of the statue. But be respectful, understand they have a general distrust of much of the public, cause they deal with the worst of the public.
99% of the cops are good guys. And probably 2/3rds are strong supporters of the second amendment. Total cooperation goes a LONG WAY, and I am not a cop.

I agree, I wasn't meaning to bash the police at all because I know they have a tough job to do. One thing I wasn't thinking much about when commenting is how the media is portraying the event.. I can't say I've personally had any issues besides getting caught speeding, and the last two times for that was borderline fun talking with the officer. So on that part I'll say is wrong.
And like I followed up with, I didn't notice at first that she did illegally cross state lines... I'll try to find an article that I read before which I instantly assumed was the same as this story.
