Rings...
I guess I am old school. I was always taught that STEEL rings were needed on semi-automatic rifles. Aluminium was good enough for bolt guns. The reason being the force that the bolt is thrown back with. I recently tried a single mount aluminum base for a AR-15 from Vortex, and it seems to be fine. And an aluminum bracket and same set up on a VEPR in 7.62x54R. Both have now held zero for a 100 rounds and the VEPR even seems to hold zero attaching and detaching.

I guess old school ideas are falling by the wayside to modern materials. Rings are never are area to go cheap on.

I put this on pretty much all of my AR's that are being fitted with a scope.

I have put many rounds down range and in a quick fashion. The mount has held up without issue. I will keep buying it and this one for all of my units. They also have 1" and 34mm mounts.
