Sorry...here's the text:

Yelling fire in a theater...

I'm so sick of hearing anti gunners say "rights aren't unlimited. You have free speech but you can't yell fire in a theater." As a way to say that we shouldn't be allowed to have (insert gun or gun related item here)

Here's how the "fire in a theater" argument works. You can't yell fire in a theater, because doing so will cause a riot, and your speech will directly involved the death or injury of another human being. However, merely being in a theater, and being aware of where the fire extinguishers are will not cause that effect, and is not illegal.

Likewise, using a firearm to threaten, hurt or kill another human being is not protected, but merely owning a (insert scary sounding thing here) will not cause harm to another human being.

The "fire in a theater" argument was meant to show how our rights end where another person's begin. Not as a way to justify stripping away rights to make people feel good.

Any other illogical anti gun arguments you'd like to dismantle?

Can we have the same logic applied to other rights...

The right to vote, to have an abortion, to practice the Islamic religion? I think the exact same procedures need to be followed before we allow anyone to exercise their 1st or 4th Amendment rights...

I can hear the liberals screaming now about the full background check on Voting or a 3 day waiting period for an abortion or the state deciding you cannot be a Muslim...

I love this argument!!!

The liberal mafia whines and cries already whenever the notion of providing ID when voting comes up. I guess they're afraid all of their brain dead, and other assorted varieties of dead, voters won't be able to unfairly vote.
