Anybody have any opinions on the Taurus TCP .380? I've been wary of Taurus based on their reputation, but from everything I've been reading the TCP is a quality little gun. Also, it seems like Taurus is really working to improve their lackluster quality control reputation. Anyway the TCP looks to be a sturdy little pocket .380, I've held it once or twice at shops and gun shows and it's small but it feels pretty nice. If anyone has any experience actually shooting one I'd love to hear about it!

I own one personally, I love it! Its amazingly accurate for such a little pocket pistol and they run great! You would not be disappointed with buying one. They work perfectly in a pocket holster... you forget its even there!

That's awesome to hear! It's pretty high up there on my next possible purchase list. How is the recoil compared to something like the LCP? Any issues at all in the time you've had it?

Oh, and I forgot to mention, they appear to be made in the USA. Good on Taurus for that.

Well of course they are not fun guns to shoot, the recoil is noticeable, but remember its not a range gun. Comfort goes out the window to gain conceal ability.

Yeah I guess everything's a compromise. Hmm I'll have to try to find somewhere that has it for rent, I'd love to put a few rounds downrange before I pick one up. Any other recommendations for a pocket pistol?

MIke has one that he carries with a technaclip. Very slim and well hidden setup! Thumbs up

I've always thought the Taurus semi-auto pistols to be unreliable, unlike their revolvers which seem to be very good. I have shot all of 2 magazines worth through one. The TCP slide locks back when the magazine is empty.
And it went bang every time I pulled the trigger. I still would prefer a Walther PPK for a really small pistol. It feels very light to me. It's why I love going to the range. You get to see so many different guns. You get to shoot all the guns your buddies own too! And so many shooters at the range are usually willing to let you put a few rounds down range.

I have never had any problems with the taurus autos, but I know people who have. Guess I got lucky with the ones I had!

Ask me to see it the next time you come in the shop. I like my bodyguard now. Didn't at first.

I have a Taurus PT92 and over the last several years and thousands of rounds through it I have had only 1 misfire and I know that was an ammo issue not the pistol. I really love the gun and would have no problem purchasing more from Taurus in the future!
