Appendix Carry - any opinions? Advice? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Do any of you carry AIWB on a regular basis? If so, what are any issues you have with it?

I think it's a very uncomfortable place to have it, and make is hard to sit with it there.

Its great if you dont need to sit down! Think of your waist as the giant hinge that it serves as. You wouldnt stick a rock in a door hinge unless you wanted it to stay open, right? While it stays concealed better, it does limit mobility to a certain degree.

My experience is in line with the posts above but I know of several women who find it their best place for carry in terms of balancing both concealability and comfort. But they are taller women, much longer waisted than me. The hinge itself is the hips, so if one has enough space between rib cage and hip line, (and there is more space between the two as you move from 3oclock to 12) and wear pants with "classic" waistband, not "modern" ones, a very small firearm can be ok there. Not for me. I carry about 2:30.

I AIWB my LC9 without too much discomfort. I find it the best way to conceal that gun.

My PPQ rides at 9 o'clock (softpaw).

I think it all depends on the size of the handgun.

Yeah if you can find a comfortable way to do it then it's a good spot, but I don't like it either. At 3 it doesn't get in the way of any daily duties that I have to do.
