In mid January I completed the required training through RDA. I then waited a couple weeks and didn’t submit my application until early February. I wasn’t expecting to hear anything for another week or two so it was a pleasant surprise when I found my Illinois CCL card in the mailbox yesterday.

I'm a little irritated that the IL CCL card doesn't replace the need to carry the FOID. I only carry a money clip and I don't have much room left for credit cards.

Congrats on the CCW and yes I am sure it would suck having to carry a FOID and your CCW.
Check out BigSkinny.net for nice little skinny wallets.

I hate carrying a large wallet and I choose a BigSkinny wallet. It fits great in my front pocket.

Congrats. Hopefully I will receive mine in the next week or two. I did not do the finger prints and it has been 90 days. I actually went on line and my Florida was just approved. Sucks another state can approve me before the one I live in.

Thanks all. I'm looking forward to putting the card to use soon. I picked the wrong time to take the train downtown for the weekend.

I need that BigSkinny wallet. The cards tend to fall out of my money clip. I appreicate the suggestion bradberry!

That's a good point Fireman. I had RDA submit my fingerprints in class.

Just a plug for our machinist. He makes these. Pretty neat idea.

And congrats!
