Only in the land of Flakes, Fruits and Nuts... So what difference does it make? So Law Enforcement will now know who purchased the gun originally before it was stolen? What is to keep the criminal from picking up spent shell casings? Is this just a plan to sell a new version of 'shell catchers' for handguns? Is this law designed to pump up Revolver sales?

Of course I would wager every SINGLE police handgun will need to be replaced as well.

Never mind the ruling violates the Constitution. Moral of the story, NEVER vote for any democrat on the ballot.

What about range ammo how do you stop someone from reloading it with your serial number on it?

Good point. That really concerns me, as I could just have gone to the range, not collected all my spent shells, then some lowlife collects them in case he/she decides to use them to confuse police. Of course, ballistics may save the day for the innocents, but there will be plenty of cases I bet that Police will match the shell to someone's gun that had nothing to do with crime. Innocent goes to jail? How long will it be before defense attorneys get savvy with all the latest tech in order to proactively defend their client?

In the end, it may help police solve "some" crime, but it will have no effect at preventing crime. What waste of time. Geez.

I have always thought that it would be pretty easy to file off the part that impress the cartridge. "Someone" will make a work around this. Just another law that makes someone rich.

I have to assume CA lawmakers are hoping most firearm manufactures won’t change their product to meet the requirements of a single state. Technically it’s not an outright ban on all firearms however they would be very happy if companies decided it wasn’t viable to change for a limited market. I thought the same thing about NY’s 7 round limit for magazines vs a more standard limit of 10 rounds.

I am waiting for the next Insane person to go on a shooting spree in one of those states with magazine limits. If they use a banned magazine, what are they going to do? Admit that someone who is willing to commit mass murder, might not pay much attention to their ban limit and admit it is a real IDIOT law, or will the typical liberal moron say, if only we had even more gun registration?

The stamp is on the primer, I believe, so reloading should not be an issue.

Be careful trying to apply any sort of logic to California legislatures. You take the biggest moron in Illinois and that person would be called a moderate there.
