Should be a 3 tier water purification methodology. Tier one should be a simple 'Life Straw'. Tier two should be water purification tablets (you may want to have some flavoring for the water, as it will taste pretty bad). Tier 3 should be a high quality filter that can be frozen without cracking. I use a Katadyn.

You should have 3-4 days of food rations. I use SOS rations (they taste awful, but are high calorie, compact, and have very long shelf life) and I add some Jerky, Almonds, and and Cliff protein bars.

Got this covered. We need more water stuff at the shop also.

I am sure there are other items that would be useful for bugging in. Large water bladders (100 gallons), 7 gallon water cans, etc... And I want to stress to people, test your gear. Make sure you know how to use it.

I personally have a filter that can be connected with 45 gallon drums. I also have a 300 Gallon tote to collect large amounts of rain water.

I find 7 gallons as about the most you can carry (8.3lbs/gallon=58.1lbs). A couple of 45 gallon drums are an excellent for bugging in. I have 2 x 30 gallons ones.
