Towing / Pulling Rig - ssphoto - 02-17-2015 Not sure how many folks keep a winch or tow ropes in their car. I'd expect it with most pickup / jeep owners, but the average driver, probably not. I decided to use some the vast space in my Outback to store a come-along and 60 feet of tow ropes. http://www.gemplers.com/product/G52261/PowR-Pull-2-ton-Come-along The tow ropes are most like seat belt style and have a 6000lb capacity. http://www.harborfreight.com/6000-lb-capacity-2-in-x-30-ft-heavy-duty-recovery-strap-61226.html Last weekend, I did a test at a park and experimented as to the manual winch force to pull my car around. Didn't take too much effort with brakes applied even. Some of you may do this on a regular basis or have experience in such, but it's all new to me! RE: Towing / Pulling Rig - jfergus7 - 02-18-2015 Those are expensive straps. To bad we don't have a Rural King near us. I picked up a similar strap for $4.99 a few weeks back. Have only had to use it once so far but worked great. RE: Towing / Pulling Rig - ssphoto - 02-19-2015 The straps I have were about $20 each; which didn't seem too bad to me in price. You got yours for $5; what capacity? RE: Towing / Pulling Rig - mikereddot - 02-19-2015 They are better than using chains.
