Have you guys seen this thing? It clips to the rifle's trigger guard and fires 3 rounds every time you turn the handle 1 full revolution. Here's a video of Jerry Miculek using one on a S&W M&P15:

Ammo is not that cheap yet, unless you are the government. Still how far away is a device that converts any semi-auto gun into slow auto?
Fostech makes a binary fcg that effectively turns your semi-auto AR into a 2-round burst weapon without needing a NFA tax stamp and has full BATFE approval. It fires once on the trigger pull and again on the reset.

If you want some inexpensive but good AR15 fodder, checkout Wolf Gold 55 grain .223 at SGAmmo.com. It's around $30(+s/h) for a lot of 100 or $280(+s/h) for 1000. They use to sell it in 500 round lots for $150(+s/h). It's marked .223 but it's closer to M193. It's the same training ammo used by Taiwan's defense forces. I use it in my 10.5" AR with no hiccups.

I just noticed that you can get the 500 round lot in an ammo can for $158. They also have the Israeli M193 for a decent price.
